After all the criticism received for Windows 8, Microsoft had no way but to upgrade its game with Windows 10. There are three different versions of Windows 10 that one can choose from – Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations. The last one is the most expensive of all and is designed for heavy workloads. While websites like PCtechynews have given good reviews for both options.
In this post, we are discussing how you can select one of the two
Understanding the basics
Microsoft has designed Windows 10 Pro for professional and office use, and it is not hard to guess why it works better in terms of Security, Fundamentals, Updates and Management. In terms of experience, you cannot distinguish Windows 10 Pro from Windows 10 Home. It does have a few advantages otherwise, because Windows 10 Pro comes with the option of using Remote Desktop Connections. This ensures that the device or computer can be controlled remotely by others – a feature that’s a must for technical needs in workspaces.
Windows 10 Professional or Windows 10 Pro comes with BitLocker, which is an encryption software designed for extra security. BitLocker allows the user to encrypt files and works with a password, making it an ideal feature to have for professionals. To access your data in case the password is missing or lost, the recovery key can be used. The Pro version also comes with what’s called the Client Hyper-V feature, which allows using different OS in the same system. While at a personal level, this may not matter, but for many professionals, it is a good advantage to have.
Other things to know
Windows 10 Professional also comes with access to a store that’s designed for businesses, with special updates exclusive for the version. It is also possible to create a domain and add it with Pro version for work needs. Most of these features are not included in Windows 10 Home. If you are a single user who doesn’t care much about security and features we just talked about, Windows 10 Home is a good choice and works pretty well for the price. For businesses, however, Windows 10 Pro will offer an edge, and if you want to shell the price, you will not regret it later.
Consider your requirements and take a call. Both Windows 10 Home and Pro versions are designed for that ultimate experience.
